In her acknowledgements, Forman calls We Are Inevitable her love letter to books, and while it is, I didn't love this book as I had hoped I would.

This is a familiar story, save the family business, told with a whole slew of fun and interesting characters, except for Aaron (the main character). He's completely unlikable and unlike other unlikable characters in other books, he does very little to redeem himself in the end. However, the other characters are tons of fun. Ira is so pure and sweet. Chad is down-to-earth and funny. The Lumberjacks provide some of the best moments in the story. Even Hannah in the brief moment she told us about herself was more interesting than listen to Aaron whine or get defensive every five seconds.

In the end this would have been a far better book with much less Aaron and much more everyone else. I liked it, but didn't love it.
