Whoa I flew through this book! I really enjoyed Gayle Forman's other books I've read but I think this one may just top the list.

This book is about the inevitable. The things we FEEL we're inevitable to experience in our lives. For Aaron Stein the things don't feel great. When we meet him he's not too far from some traumatic events: his brother's death, his parent's bankruptcy, and his mother leaving. He seems to think he's handling it all in stride, if not a bit pessimistically.

This book had ANXIETY. What I mean is, I felt in an almost constant state of anticipation. Aaron gets himself into... almost avoidable situations where you are internally screaming at him to "STOP! DON'T!" A lot of things could be solved with some honest communication, but we all know that isn't always the easy step to take.

Like I mentioned I whipped through this book. First, there is the anticipation about the snowball of events Aaron creates. You keep flipping trying to find the end of this inevitable destruction. Second, great subject matter. Aaron's brother was a drug addict. And he's still grieving whether Aaron realizes it or not. He is angry. He's trying to come across as indifferent, but it's just not happening. Then, there is love. The throws of a new relationship. The uncertainty of whether or not the person you're crushing on, is also crushing on you.

So many great elements. AND a major setting is a bookstore. Is it every bookworm's dream to own a bookstore, or no? I'm not sure but Bluebird Books sounds like a type of paradise. It's definitely a place I'd like to visit.
