I am still amazed on how Gayle makes the reader suffer towards the end just to fix everything.
I have to be honest, beginning this book was a little bit tedious. I didn't like Ira, couldn't relate to Aaron, didn't understand their relationship. The introduction to characters was a bit weird and it felt a bit forced. But as the story begins to unravel I totally related to some characters, and genuinely cared about them.
This story is beautiful in every way. It deals with grief, loss, uncertain future, and of course, the inevitable. I don't know how much I could say about the story without giving away too much. All I want to say is that you will not regret reading it.
The feels are real! I never (almost never) cry with books. The topics this book addresses are hard to read, and even harder to experience, and the way Gayle wrote about them, make them feel like it is not the end of the world and everything will eventually be fine.
I adored this one.
