From the first page, this book was already establishing a running plot, and a universe. Telling us of characters that may be important later, telling us about the universe that the world takes place in, I was pretty instantly interested. The dialogue is well-written, and they seem like people, not just characters put on a page pretending to mean something. I really like what's happening in the book, and would definitely read through it, maybe even shelve it as a favorite.
