I loved What Big Teeth and I'm looking forward to this duology! But reading this excerpt...it felt weird. It felt like a mix of present-day and medieval and that's hard to pull off. Astrid has a pager...the names; Pete, Kyle. But there's a castle and a dungeon. I'm not sure how this one will play out but I'm willing to take a chance. But the cover is awesome! Yay for non-binary looking people on covers!
