What a start!! I don't think I've ever read such a well written and intriguing prologue. We're instantly immersed in the world and the use of magic. It's a unique universe of Urban Fantasy (internet, cell phones, buses) mixed with notes of High Fantasy (kings, castles, etc) with time travel thrown in.
This cover is so stunning and instantly drew me in.
