The story begins with Astrid the witch helping Nathan the King, and Marla his wife, as Marla delivers their son, David and another creature that can’t rightly be called a person. In the chaos of the birth, Astrid takes David and flees. Many years later, events are coming to a head when Astrid reunites with David, Nathan, and other mysterious people who all seem to know them. A very suspenseful YA book!
