Rose Szabo's first book, What Big Teeth, was one of my favorite reads of 2021, and I've been excited about this book since I first heard about it—and this sneak peak did not disappoint! Szabo has created a fascinating world for us, and intriguing characters, and started off with a good three inciting incidents that have ensnared me completely. I also love the way the third-person-limited POV occasionally steps out of itself for omniscient "we" passages—what a great way for us to observe things that the POV characters can't see, without breaking the inconsistency of the POV style. I can't wait to continue reading this!!!
