Well, we're straight into it here! This is one of those books where you think, 'just one more chapter' then, 'just one more'. Definitely a page turner.

The characters are really well drawn, almost before they've done anything you get a good idea of what they are like. Although they are likeable they are also flawed so they seem pretty well rounded. There are no obvious heroes or villains here. I like that, it means you can't predict what will happen, who will make mistakes, who will have a happy ending.

As for the story, I think it's hard to categorise. Is it a murder mystery, a love story, a family saga? In a way it doesn't matter, as long as it's interesting, which it is.

I love Lisa Jewell's writing anyway but this really drew me in. The way she can create emotions on the page is brilliant.
