I can't deny that the book was overall, well written and a good read.

Joey isn't what you'd label as responsible, since her mother's death she's bounced around doing whatever fit her spirit at the time. When she moves back to live with her brother and his wife with her new husband she wants to organize her life. It's just not that simple for Joey, when she becomes infatuated with the neighbor and his wife ends up murdered in the kitchen questions surround. A story of betrayals, twists that leave you awestruck, and thrills that keep you wondering, exactly who should you trust in your life?

I didn't connect with the main character on the first few chapters. It took me a while to get actually into the book and want to sit down and finish it but by I'd say the first 100 pages I was hooked. It was a slow build for me.

The end was, as usual, not as I was expecting but I found myself wanting a little bit more of what followed.

If you weren't paying attention what actually happened would never click. Overall it was well written I think my disconnect with the MC was my biggest issue. Once I got into the book I would definitely say that I'd recommend it to another who enjoys this genre.
