In Melville Heights everyone has a secret and everyone is secretly observing everyone else. Joey McMullen recently moved into the neighborhood to live with her brother and his new wife as she attempts to finally act like an adult. Tom Fitzwilliam is the new head teacher in town, tasked with turning the local school around. As their paths continue to cross, along with that of everyone else in their families, things quickly spiral out of control.
This was an enjoyable domestic suspense novel filled with an interesting cast of characters; one where truly everyone had something to hide. I enjoyed getting snippets of "real time" updates from the murder investigation that the book opens with, as it helped propel the backstory along. I thought there was just enough drama to keep things going, but not so much that I was getting whiplash at every second. And even though I figured out the whodunnit a little before the book revealed it, I definitely did not see that epilogue coming!
