I am awaiting the end of the story. So Joey has an attraction to a gentleman neighbor. Joey is married as is the gentleman, Tom Fitzwilliam. Joey has always been a free spirit. She has traveled and never settled down. She met her husband overseas and married him on a beach, barefoot. Joey went home when her mother died and Allie her husband followed her.
After Alfie and Joey moved back, Joey’s brother invited them to live with him and his wife. Their house was among some painted houses Joey has always adored. This was a dream come true. But it seems his wife is not happy with Joey and Alfie living there. Rebecca avoids Joey whenever possible. And then in the middle of this review is an interrogation of Joey. Tom Fitzwilliam is dead.
