The first page of the Prologue hooked me! Someone’s been murdered. By Chapter 1, you know who was murdered, but you don’t know why. Then, the author starts to build the story. I love the way Lisa Jewell writes. She has a wonderful way of describing people and scenes. You can picture in your mind’s eye exactly the way people and scenarios “look”. She reels you into the characters’ lives and you instantly know who you want to root for all the while knowing that eventually, somewhere along the way, you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop. Again, Lisa Jewell is preparing you, first subtly, eventually overtly. Oh my, you know you are going to have to brace yourself for what is to come. You want to look away, but you can’t! Oh my........
