This is one of those books where I stay up late reading. Kept me on the edge of my seat as I was reading it. The book starts towards the end of the story and then uses flashback to see events unfold. It's told from a bunch of different narrators central to the story
The central theme of being watched or being the watcher is what elevates this novel from what I consider typical suspense to something much creepier in feel. There’s a host of participants running rampant throughout, the mystery found in deciphering which of the watchers/watched are in fact driven by dark motives.
I still feel creeped out AFTER reading this book.
I grew up in a community where neighbors kept an eye out for others. They also knew your business and you knew theirs - at least you thought you did! So, what happens when a new family moves into your quiet, safe neighborhood?
READ THIS (yep I am screaming at you)
