I have not read anything by Lisa Jewell and after this book, she is definitely going on my author list. Watching You had me guessing up until the very end! I found it interesting how we weave stories about people we see after glimpsing a very small or short snapshot of their lives. Stalking our neighbors...no not us. But yes, we all do that! The danger is when we hear a rumor about a person and then take it for gospel and then every action that person takes, we plug that into the narrative we have for the person. I did that about Tom when I went back and forth about whether he crossed the line with Bess. Seeing Freddie find love with a young girl diagnosed with Asperger's and then finding out he too had it. That was beautiful to see because Freddie was able to understand parts of himself that he previously couldn't comprehend. In the end, I wonder had Rebecca been able to really talk to someone about her sister's death and her feelings towards the girls who bullied her, would she had made a different choice. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel!
