Joey is a normal woman who lives a normal life. Sure, she can't find a job and has very few useful skills, but she is relatively happy living with her husband, brother, and sister-in-law in a nice home. When Joey first sees Tom Fitzwilliam, her almost-next-door neighbor, she immediately becomes obsessed. She wants him. His wife is quiet and seems nice enough, and his son is alright, albeit a little creepy, but it seems as though there are still secrets hiding behind the doors of the Fitzwilliam house.
This happened to be the first Lisa Jewell novel I have ever read, and it was absolutely chilling. The story had me hooked from the first chapter, and I was curious to find out more. Every character was so complex and intriguing, and they all had their own secrets and motivations for acting the way that they did. This book was so easy to get addicted to, and I was able to read it in less than a day. I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait to read more from this author!
