Watch Over Me is a haunting look at grief and trauma that will stay with you long after the last page is turned. I love Nina LaCour’s prose and writing style, and this book had the same lyrical style as her previous books. I loved the descriptors. The writing really brought me into the story and kept me there for the duration of the book. The look at family relationships and found family where a joy to read about.
Mila was an interesting character and it was nice to see her story unfold. I loved how she grew throughout the course of the book. I thought the flashbacks worked well in the story and gave it depth.
I will definitely continue to pick up books by LaCour. Her books are always so so beautiful to read.
The cover is also just so so gorgeous! I love the look of it and the blue background suits the rest of the cover well.
