I am a huge fan of LaCour especially since We are ok. This book was just as good as We are Ok.

Mila is an orphan and aged out of foster care. She's given an opportunity to live in a farm house that's in a remote location. I have to say I admired how she took the opportunity and looked at it as a way to create a new home. Mila, oh Mila, she is so beautifully written. I could feel her loneliness that I could feel it in my bones. Her wanting to have a sense of belonging and a home that she could call her own, tore at my own hear.

This is one of the things I love about LaCour. She is really able to put her readers into the story. I felt like I was in the story watching Mila from afar and going through all of her struggles with her.

I enjoy the fact that there really wasn't any love relationship with anyone as I feel that would have taken away from the journey Mila was on.

Thank you so much to Bookish First and Penquin Teen for the ARC.
