The story takes you to meet Mila, a girl who apparently lost her parents and grandparents to end up in foster care.
Mila is taken in as an intern by a couple on a farm in the middle of nowhere, to teach their foster kids.
Throughout, the story keeps hinting about something dark in Mila's past. It keeps hinting at darkness in the other children's past as well. Finally, there's definitely a darkness in the farm, and the ghosts that live there.
It sets up for a haunting story and as much as I'd love to find out what haunts Mila, I'm definitely most interested in what the ghosts on the farm will turn out to be!
