The description of this book doesn't give much away. From the description and the first impression, I can't quite tell if it is a horror story or a mystery or just a pseudo-coming of age story. So far, the story is interesting. I like Mila and I am very interested in the family she has gone to live with. The thing I found most interesting is the writing style. It is written almost in a flashback style where you get broken bits and pieces of the present and the past. While admittedly it is a bit hard to follow, it is a pretty powerful way to mingle the past and present when writing and I found myself liking it once I figured it out.
