I felt instantly transported to the foggy Northern California coast as I read this excerpt. The writing captures the haunting solitude and the warm and quirky characters one tends to meet, as well as a lingering dread of memories. There's also that touch of the supernatural - the ghosts that seem to be natural. Of course there are ghosts there. I'm very interested to read more.
