I'm not sure what to think of Watch Over Me, probably because I'm not entirely sure what direction it's supposed to be going. At the very beginning the book is juggling an orphaned Mila starting a new job in an isolated spot, teaching kids in the foster care system. Is she qualified to teach? I don't know that a high school diploma gets you there, but okay. Then there's her flashbacks to her childhood. And the ghosts. I assume that at some point the author is going to pull everything together, but it feels disjointed at this point.
