LaCour's writing draws you in and manages to feel comforting even when the moment isn't comfortable. I like Mila. We learn a lot about her in this first glimpse. I did not expect this to have a creepy undertone. If it was a horror of thriller I would not want to continue but because I know it is a contemporary dealing with trauma and grief I am definitely interested.
