At first glance the cover of this book really drew me in. There's something about it that makes my arms get goosebumps. At the beginning of the book we are seeing Mila on her way from moving on from living with her foster parents. She is graduating high school and will be aging out of the foster care system. She is interviewing for a job that will have her living on a farm in the middle of nowhere. Mila is told that she has been accepted already, but is told that she must want the job, which Mila is insistant that she is.
Mila tells the audience that she has done bad things and knows that the farm will bring back trauma, but will do better. Those sentences alone make me want to read the whole book as see what is going to happen. I find myself wanting to know more about Mila and wanting to connect with her.
