I love this quirky mystery series! The protagonist, Hester Thursby (such a great name!) is a librarian at the Widener Library at Harvard University - and a very interesting and unique person. The thing I like most about this series is the way the characters are all very appealing and well-realized - they leap off the page. Hester, her partner Morgan, their daughter Kate and their friends Angela, Cary, Isiah and Jamie are all terrific characters. I also like the Boston location - it's a city that has always fascinated me. This is a traditional mystery novel without a lot of blood and gore, perfect for a pandemic year when I'm looking for books that entertain without upsetting me more than daily life already does right now.
