This was my first time reading anything by this author and it exceeded my expectations! Now that I have read the third Hester Thursby Mystery I plan on reading the first two. It’s a book that can be read as a stand alone and you don’t feel like you have missed out. I loved the short chapters and different points of views! The characters were written beautifully. They were complex and I felt for each of them. I found myself pausing briefly after a few chapters but coming back for more because it was so addicting. There were so many twists and turns that kept me on my toes. I love when I feel confident in what happened and I am completely wrong. This book makes you think about loyalty and how far we would go to protect the ones we care about. It’s a mystery with a lot of heartwarming moments. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good whodunnit! It was wonderful!
