Watch Her is definitely a book that you can casually read and still enjoy, even if you aren't keeping track of all the details. One thing that was different about this book than other detective fiction is that it has a lot of time jumps, short chapters, and switching perspectives. The dialogue is easy to read and the characters are differentiated well, but my problem more was with the mystery itself. I think this novel was lacking in suspense compared to other whodunits I read, and I wasn't really feeling that much of an intensity or desire to figure out what really happened. In a similar situation to The Lost Man by Jane Harper, while I could still enjoy the ending and characters, the mystery wasn't as compelling as I had hoped it to be. I'm sure Edwin Hill has written many other great crime novels though, which I'm sure to check out. This had a pretty good start, but did lose my attention here and there.
