This is my first book by this author and in this series. And even though it is book three, this was totally fine as a stand-alone.

Overall, the book was good. The writing was well done and the dialogue worked. It did not feel like there were witty comments trying to be added or forcing characters to be "better" than they are. I just didn’t feel the mystery was that interesting. It took me a week to read a 350 page book. Which is because I did not find myself reaching for it. I truly did not care about the secondary characters in the story. A bunch of rich people trying to cover up a crime of both murder and other money laundering just did not do it for me. This is a plot that just did not seem to interest me very much.

I think I would try another book in this series because I truly believe the main characters were well done. I may see if I can get my hands on book one at my local library!
