First this book hooked me quickly. The sister dynamic was sweet and I could see how onyii really loved her sister. And I really enjoyed the rebellious side to Ify. Through out the book we see these character change as things come to light. A lot is unanswered till the end and things happen in ways I didn’t see coming. I do have to admit that it took me longer to finish the book and it had nothing to do with the book at all.
I’m a sucker for war stories and tochi I think describe things greatly. I knew nothing about the Nigerian Civil War but I guess that was one of the goals with War Girls. Was to shine some light on what happened during those dark times and how the people were cheated. The cyberized aspect of the story with the action pack fight scenes with the Mechs I think made the story even more appealing.
I really enjoyed this book and I would definitely read this again. I’m hearing there is a book 2 in the works. And I’m very curious to see how that will be executed with how things were left off.
