I was excited to read this novel when I first read the first impression of it from Bookish First. Also had high hopes of this novel would be an excellent read. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in the novel and lost me about the middle of it.
My knowledge of it having topics of the Nigerian Civil War was part of it, I knew it already was a sensitive topic already to write about in general. It just seemed to be action packed about half way through, then the story just fell short. Character and story wise - something wasn't grasping my attention as it had when I read the first half, even the first impression.
After I read more of my other books, I will read it again to see if my opinions changes.
