War Girls is set in a futuristic, sci-fi infused Nigeria, and is full of exciting futuristic tech! The story follows sisters Ify and Onyii as they fight to survive in a world ravaged by the aftermath of climate change and nuclear war. Though survival is difficult, the two girls dream of finding a better life, even if it takes fighting a war to get there.
Tochi Onyebuchi has created a thrilling sci-fi futurescape that easily absorbs readers! I loved the detailed descriptions of technology, and the unique world the characters live in! Onyebuchi has been acclaimed for his earlier young adult fiction, and I believe he did a fantastic job taking his world building to a new techno-fueled level!

I would recommend this book to fans of superhero movies and comics, as the action and technology in War Girls will be sure to delight! Comparisons have been made between War Girls and Black Panther, which I think is extremely apt.
