First the cover art is beautiful. The book is something I haven’t seen done which makes this even more exciting to read.
The first four chapters are shrouded in mystery as we only get introduced to a few characters. The book reads in two points of views Ify and Onyii sisters in this post apocalyptic world in Nigeria.
Ify is the you get one who love her sister and doesn’t want to disappoint her older sister but hungers to learn more to do more then what’s she allowed. Onyii wants to build a better world for her sister and herself. They are fighting a war they never asked for as war children!
I’m in love with the writing style already. And it’s also interesting to find out that the author wrote this with his mother’s experience as inspiration. This is a book to pick up for sure!
