I generally don't care for science fiction books, with this being a prime example. I really struggle with getting a mental picture of what's going on when there are so many terms used for things that don't exist in my world. I get bionic limbs and androids, but the minerals and eto-eto and spitting nanobot-filled mucus into stuff was just a little too far for me. It kept detracting from the body of the story, which is two sisters who live in a post-apocalyptic (to them anyway) world where a group of girls are trying to survive under the radar.
