Late in the next century, Nigeria is a war-torn, dystopian country, and everyone is struggling to survive. The preview chapters seem to indicate that this book will be an interesting blend of realistic, everyday life with children going to school and mothers trying to make their children live by society's rules. However, Onyii must be not just a mother but a person who wears radiation suits to prevent her skin from immediately peeling off. Survival is difficult and the robots and mystical healing powers make it difficult to know what and whom to trust.
