This book starts out with two book characters locked away in a house in the mind of the romance writer, Wanda. Neither has a place to go in a book yet as the writer has not found the right book or place in book for them. The female protagonist character has been written into and out of a number of the writer's series. The male protagonist character is part of a ghost-written action genre book who doesn't realize that the events in his book aren't real.
The dialogue and plot line were honestly boring. I didn't believe in the authenticity of the female character and the male character just seemed like the typical dumb male cliche. The foreshadowing was very heavy and obvious, and if these two do not have a fling, I would be surprised. I was interested in the initial summary but the execution falls flat.
