There are a lot of things I liked about this book. The story alternates between past and present day, which I like because I felt like it made the book more interesting. I also didn't find it super hard to follow like I have with this perspective in other books. I also felt like the writing is really good. It is descriptive, and I enjoyed that it made me really picture what was going on in the moment of the story. I was not sure if I would like this book much when I read the summary, mostly because nature is not really my thing. I will say, that it is a big part of the book, and I actually really enjoyed that about the novel! I had heard this book had Where the Crawdads Sing vibes, and I can definitely see the comparisons. It is a different book though. If you liked Crawdads, you will probably like this book too. There are some good on trend topics and a little mystery too.
