Reading the first few pages flamed my curiosity!

I am in love with the story's protagonist, Miss Cadence! She is driven, passionate, oozing so much warmth and exuberance. The story starts with her being on the field, collecting beetle sample and trying to connect two dots--of the prevailing forest fires and the spike in beetles. She is so smart and intelligent and brave, she reminds me of Princess Merida of DunBroch (from the movie Brave). I cannot wait to learn what she and her friend, Daniela uncover in that boat.

And the jacket is simply beautiful. If you stare at it long enough, you feel you are there by the lake, watching the sun descend into the purple-pink horizon.

I cannot wait to read more!
