As soon as I started this book, I knew it was just what I needed right now. I was immediately taken in by Cadie's passion for nature, a passion that would force her to contend with fires and politics. I immediately felt like I was in those woods with Cadie, doing research. I love that the novel is told in two time periods, and I'm curious to see how Cadie's past is going to collide with her present. The nature setting hooked me right away and now I want to know more about Cadie's life and work.
