This book has such great descriptions of the setting, creating a great sense of atmosphere. It takes place in New England, primarily New Hampshire in what I suspect will be alternating chapters between the present and the past. I love the environmental aspect of the story -- Cadie is an entomologist who is studying the connection between a particular beetle and fires. I also think the friendship relationship between Cadie and Daniela will be interesting as you're getting the past when they were very close and the present where they are no longer close friends. On top of all that, which has the makings for a great contemporary, you've got this mystery of something that happened in Cadie's childhood that is coming to surface. Can't wait to read more!
