"Virgil Wander" is a novel about Virgil - after the car smash - and his interaction with the community of a small Midwestern town. Initially, the summary and the cover caught my attention. However, this book for me was a very slow-paced read: I found Leif Enger's writing too much descriptive, altough following an easy line mixed with humor. The plot was quite flat and messy for me and I could not engage with the characters/facts. Also, the characters are quirky yet isolated one from another in such a way that I could not connect with all of them. I guess you have to dig more into the story in order to understand the reasoning line that the author is trying to convey.
This title is an atypical literary fiction which hides the best for the finale. Lastly, It is pity that I could not have enjoyed it more.
