I enjoyed reading this short peek. It definitely intrigued me enough to read the entire book when published. Virgil seems like an interesting character with a back story that will develop. The end of the chapter leaves you wanting to know more about Alex and the old man. I have never read anything by this author but I liked the style of writing. There is enough detail to allow the reader to visualize the scene but not so much that you lose track of the story and the characters. I loved the description of the car sailing into the water. I would recommend this book to other readers who enjoy Richard Russo’s “Nobody’s Fool” or even Carl Hiassen. Seems to have a good story with interesting characters along with a little humor.
