I think this book will be an excellent fit for many, and I think it's important to have some advance knowledge of what you are getting into.

This book:
-is 600 plus pages long, divided into three parts, sharing varying points of view
-composed of many inner monologues as characters meaningfully reflect on different philosophical ideals of political and economic systems
-Science Fiction in the fact that Mars, settled by Terrans, has different technology and different economic/political system than Earth- this provides the backdrop for the Mercury Group (teens that spent five years on Earth) to compare and contrast their experiences
-quotes and references philosophers and authors as characters questions their current way of life and what the alternatives might look like
-does not have a lot of action or dialogue

Personally, it's a long book and I was hoping for more plot/action. I can appreciate the exploration of ideas (which is why I gave it 4 stars). In some ways it reminded me of the writings of Ayn Rand. I Was glad I stuck with it.

Thanks to BookishFirst and Saga Press for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
