This book explores two different worlds, one on Earth and one on Mars and how they attempt to reconnect decades after being at war with each other. I find this concept very interesting and was at first very intrigued with the characters and their backstories. I had a hard time visualizing the city on Mars but I thought her descriptions were stunning. Unfortunately, this book just moved so incredibly slow and it is very long. As someone who often reads very long books, this one initially appealed to me but I finally gave up as it did not keep me interested. I feel as if I might have enjoyed it more if I was in a different frame of mind and had the headspace to enjoy the slow moving plot.
