Unique and Alienating Community
The Prologue of Vagabonds immediately brought to mind of the same images as what I saw in The Secret History by Donna Tartt. While it becomes clear that this novel takes place in a more distant time and place, I'm immediately drawn into the community being described here. I want to know how this group populates the new world and how they shape and change it. The first few pages do a great job drawing the reader in.
The cover is simple, but eyecatching. I like the subtle nod to Mars, the red planet, in the texture and color of the block lettering.
