Not my genre, and the First Look didn't change my mind

I tried to get into this First Look. I failed. The writing style threw me off, and the subject matter wasn't for me. At first, I thought this would suck me in like the Divergent series or the Hunger Games, but it just didn't work for me. There were so many things thrown into a few pages (factions, captains, "the girl", the ship, intergalactic history and war) that I tired out.

The cover does nothing for the book.
