Had Promise But...

I was excited to read this book because I love fae and changelings and it was also cool that the main character (Seelie) was autistic and I wanted to see what that was like. Sadly though, I was not all that drawn into the story. It had all the cool bits, from an adventurer/thief (Seelie's sister) to a shapshifter (Raze, who was actually pretty good) and a quest to find a hidden keep which led them all over and into the fae realms. None if it really clicked though. It seemed that bits were missing? And the big reveals kind of fell flat for me because of it. It is the first book in a duology and so nothing was really resolved, not even the big secret that Seelie needed to tell her sister. They had a strong bond and the way the author wrote it is not what I would have expected from their bond. I would have picked a different spot to leave the story.

So, cool cover and it tried to be exciting but I am a bit disappointed and unlikely to pick up the second book when it comes out.
