After finishing this new novel by Paul Holes, “Unmasked” I was left with the feeling that we desperately needed a follow up book. These stories all involved Holes’ ability and tenacity in solving cold cases. Each story was gripping and well detailed. At times the reader could actually feel the tension mount as the clues are discovered and the puzzle pieces put into place to allow for going forward and solving the case. I suddenly realized I was anticipating his searching and deep diving to reach the conclusion of each case. The author’s unrelenting ability to push on and his patience in going over and over ground already covered time and again was inspiring. It would have been easy to simply lay out these cases in a step by step fact based bullet style yet the author’s skill allowed this to read not as a just cases solved but stories to become immersed in.
