I thoroughly enjoyed this book. If you are triggered by descriptions of violent crime against women and men, this book is not for you. Paul Holes is sometimes clinical in his descriptions and sometimes completely emotional and connected. I felt that this book could have been another 500 pages. I wanted to know more about each case and about his interpersonal experiences.
The timeline jumps around quite a bit but is is clear and easy to follow the thought process.
In these pages there were moments were I was able to created such a vivid picture in my mind that it was unsettling, and those mental pictures will stay with me for some time. Paul focusses a lot of time his own personal mental space over the years and that was my favorite aspect. It's refreshing that Paul didn't just give a bunch of serial killer lore and sensationalized the perpetrators.

Thank you Bookishfirst for my copy, so glad I won this one.
