Paul Holes spent his career solving cold cases, the ones not forgotten about, but the trail is so cold that finding new information irn order to find or prosecute perpetrators is just about impossible. The author considered them worth following up and was very often successful. DNA has been a key to his success with the advent of Ancestry.com and other platforms for analysing previously found, but unexplained evidence.
His life took a huge toll as he dedicated his life to his work instead of to his family. Maybe more could have been spent on that aspect of the book. I found it more graphic than I wanted so I did skip some parts of the book. Thos who want the whole experience and all the details (and I mean ALL the details) will likely rate this higher than I did.
