Suspenseful
So I just learned that this book was the seventh in the series. Which, I am definitely going to have to go and devour after I'm finished writing this review.
Let's start with big picture. I've never read a book by the author, Lynda La Plante, so new beginnings for me. But this I liked. The cover was great, moody and mysterious. And honestly, purple is my favorite color, so more bonus points.
But appearances aside, I really liked the book. I enjoyed the characters, the setting, and the plot. With the coffin and construction, it gave me very Bones-esque vibes (and I love Bones).
I read several reviews talking about police procedural, and I definitely agree. I think it was very realistic in the investigation process (although I myself am not in law enforcement, so really I can't tell). But it was also very engaging. I would definitely read the others in this series.
